Hasanah.id – The Sumedang Regency Government explores cooperation with PT Perisai Semesta Nusantara to implement plasma technology in the treatment of hospital waste. This initiative is in line with the efforts of local governments to support environmental sustainability and improve the quality of health services.
Director of PT Perisai Semesta Nusantara, Angga, revealed that the plasma technology used by his company has been proven effective in various developed countries in the treatment of solid, gas and liquid waste. This technology allows the decomposition of waste to the molecular level, towards the zero waste solution.
“This technology has been successfully tested to process waste into a safe and used material,” he said in a meeting with Deputy Regent Fajar Aldila at the Central Government Center, Wednesday (5/14/2025).
Angga explained that the Plasma Tech Baruna system applied included aeration, media filtering, plasma treatment, and reverse osmosis, which allowed wastewater to be converted into clean water that is safe to be discarded or even consumed. “The trials we did showed safe results for consumption,” he added.
Deputy Regent Fajar Aldila expressed his support for the potential collaboration. He considered that the treatment of hospital waste into clean water or drinking water was an important breakthrough in managing environmentally friendly technology.
“We are exploring cooperation to realize this,” he said.
In addition, Fajar also emphasized the importance of supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in each Puskesmas in Sumedang Regency.
“We will continue to monitor and evaluate the waste management process to ensure there are no negative impacts on the environment in the future,” he concluded.
